DIAGNOSTIC: Patient is diabetic and suffered a stroke in February 2012. The stroke caused paralysis of the left side of his body and he has been bed ridden since February 2012.

Next Steps

Segundo still has spastic reflexes on the sole of the left foot, patella, and biceps on the left side of the body. Therefore, his condition would improve with physical therapy. Currently, three family members have to help lift him when they bathe or transport Segundo out of bed. A mechanical patient lift would significantly help his family when transporting Segundo out of bed.
