Be the CHANGE in Global Oral Health

Join 7-day Dental Brigades in Honduras, Panama, Guatemala, and Greece. Volunteers shadow licensed dentists, support patient care, and lead oral health workshops that strengthen long-term community wellness.

Empowering communities through sustainable oral health systems

Global Dental Brigades brings together students, local dentists, and community partners to expand access to essential dental care. In rural and under-resourced areas where oral health services are limited, volunteers support treatment, prevention, and education efforts that strengthen community well-being and contribute to long-term, sustainable health outcomes.

Dental Screening

Brigade staff will provide dental screening training to all volunteers. During the next day, volunteers will then work alongside staff to screen patients in the community. This screening day will allow brigade staff to better organize the dental clinic based on the urgency of the needs presented.

Dental Clinic

Volunteers, community members, and Global Brigades staff will be running the entire clinic. At least one in-country dentist will be on every brigade, working and overseeing the station. Only licensed healthcare professionals will be able to perform procedures. However, volunteers will have an interactive role by participating in tasks that include, shadowing licensed dentists, delivering post-op care instructions, and conducting children’s education workshops.

Data Informatics

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with community volunteers to log the date of visit and patients’ name, age, gender and community residence. All of this information is documented into our electronic medical record system, Open MRS, which is hosted on a local server at the medical clinic so that the other stations can access the information.

Dental Health Education

Volunteers have the opportunity to organize and lead adult’s and children’s dental health education workshops, which include teeth brushing, flossing, fluoride treatments, and dental care.
