We met Kellin on a Medical Brigade to Teupasenti in July 2015 and learned of a few pressing health concerns that made her a good candidate for the Patient Referral Program. She was diagnosed with lipomeningocele, a neural tube defect. She also has severe equino-cavus deformity of the foot and a potential chronic osteomyelitis (an infection of a bone).
Next Steps
We had the opportunity to accompany Kellin to an appointment with a specialist. The only option for her is surgery, but she has not yet had x-rays for the doctors to get a better idea of the course of action.
Call to Action
Kellin will eventually need a surgery on her feet, but she needs an x-ray first. We are seeking to raise $5,000 for Kellin’s care.
