LATEST UPDATE:

Maria Hilaria was evaluated for the fitting of her left lower limb prosthesis. According to the instructions provided, she must undergo a 1-month period of physiotherapy before the prosthesis can be made, as there is a tendon preventing proper stretching of the stump.

Background

Age: 66
Community: Granadilla, Moroceli
Diagnostic: Lower left limb amputation

Maria is a 66-year-old patient, a domestic worker who is a Chronic Diabetic managed with Insulin. Due to complications from this disease, her left leg had to be amputated, so she now needs normal mobilization through a prosthesis and to be able to leave her wheelchair.

Next Steps

We are hoping to help raise funds to be able to get the prosthesis for Maria’s left leg.
